Peter C. Collino

EXPERIENCE

In 1990, Mr. Collino, and a partner, founded EPG International, a Limited Liability Company (EPG Int'l, LLC). Originally, the founders planed to sell water treatment equipment. Soon, however, they began manufacturing and integrating water treatment components into complete water treatment systems. In 1994, further expansion of product lines led to the development of retail water filtration stores under the brand name, Water Gourmet.

In 1995, Mr. Collino assumed the sole ownership of EPG International. The company has built fifty-six water stores in Southern California. In addition to retail water sales, some of the stores have juice bars and water bottling facilities. Although individual investors own most of the stores, EPG has contractual arrangements so water quality standards can be supervised and maintained at all times.

Datum Inc., a forty million dollar electronics manufacturing company, employed Mr. Collino in 1981 as a cost accountant and then as a cost accountant supervisor. After seven years, he accepted appointment as Controller for the company's Anaheim division. As controller, he was responsible for the costing, payroll, and general accounting department. He handled all budgeting and cash flow management duties while maintaining the company's market share in the highly competitive electronics industry. He implemented a new computer hardware and software system within a twelve-month timeline. With other members of the management team, he negotiated numerous multi-million dollar contracts with both government agencies and private contractors. He supervised implementation of government regulations and requirements for various environmental issues under California propositions 65 and 15.

In 1984, Mr. Collino established PC TAX as a part-time business to serve individuals and small businesses with complex tax returns. As an Enrolled Agent, he resolves IRS disputes for small corporate and partnership clients. Although time for this work must be strictly limited, he continues to assist a small number of customers with their tax problems.

Mr. Collino served a four-year term as a Condominium Association Treasurer. During his tenure, he determined appropriate reserves allocation for future capital expenditures and negotiated key contracts for insurance, building contractors, and management companies.

While attending UCLA, Mr. Collino managed the Associated Students of UCLA Catering Department for three-years. He supervised fund-raising receptions, sporting events and complex functions for over 10,000 participants. He trained over one hundred new employees for a one-time elaborate dinner party in honor of an important political figure and created new menus with twenty-five to thirty-four percent higher revenue margins.

EDUCATION

Mr. Collino has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Chapman University in Orange, CA where he majored in International Business Management. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of California Los Angeles with a major in Business Economics. To stay abreast of changes in water quality management and tax law, he attends seminars presented by the National Water Quality Association and the California Society of Enrolled Agents. He networks with business colleagues through the business networking updates presented by the UCLA Alumnae Association.
